Toyota Aims for Prius to Become Top-Seller in U.S. by 2020

Toyota believes that its "green" car, the Prius, will be the top-selling electric vehicle in the United States by the year 2020.  Although "going green" is a topic on many individual's minds, and these vehicles are better for the environment by far, I still do not believe that Prius will become a top-seller.  I am not sold.

With the insurance claims alone, Toyota is in trouble.  Their best seller is the Camry, yet the sales from those may not be enough to get them out of the hole they are in.  The allure of the Prius may not be enough for the American public to forget about the compromises in Toyota's safety procedures.  Americans do not easily forget when they have been wronged.

Toyota is running so many sales campaigns right now because they know they have lost money and will continue to lose money.  Their prophecy that the Prius will become the top-seller is simply wishful thinking.
